Valerie’s home Chapter is Tonalea, Ariz. She is Todich’ii’nii’ (Bitter Water Clan) born for To’aheedliinii (Water Flows Together Clan.) Maternal Grandfather is Nakaii Dine’e’ (Mexican Clan) and Paternal Grandfather is Naasht’ezhi (Zuni Clan.) Her first position was as a Marketing Analyst for Twin Arrows Casino Resort then moving up to Director of Database Marketing for all properties with Navajo Gaming.

She performs a vital role within the 1,200 team member workforce, by marketing all Navajo Gaming properties. Valerie is a graduate of Arizona State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Studies and Social Inquiry. She then earned a Master of Science degree in Agribusiness emphasizing Finance and Marketing.
“My favorite thing about working at NNGE is having a positive impact on the Tribe’s economy. My goal was always to contribute back to my community and nation and NNGE allows me to do that,” says Valerie.

On achieving success, she states, “Seek out and be open to opportunities that challenge yourself to learn something new or make new connections. Immerse yourself in the industry of your interest.”

“And, have perseverance. Obstacles and setbacks are a fact of life and how you overcome them determines your success, she adds.”
